Baggett Stadium

Home to the Cal Poly Mustang baseball team as well as an American baseball legend

Ozzie Smith

Baggett Stadium is the home to the Cal Poly baseball team. It is named after Robin Baggett a former Cal Poly catcher (1968-1971). The field is a NCAA regulation baseball stadium. Baggett Stadium opened in the spring of 2001 and the first game played on it was a twelve inning one run mustang victory over Stanford. The Stadium capacity is 1,534 with 660 seats. The field's dimensions are: 335 ft. down the left and right field lines, 385 ft. in the alleys, and 405 ft. to straight away center. A Day at Baggett Stadium

Fans enjoy a nice sunny day watching Cal Poly play their rival Santa Barbara. We interviewed Molly Sanchez, a local San Luis Obispo woman, whose son attended Cal Poly. She attends every home baseball game the Mustangs play. She said "it is an opportunity to bring her grandchildren out and spend time with them doing something that is enjoyable for them all". We asked her about her opinion of the new stadium (Baggett Stadium) and she replied with only positive opinions and thoughts; she sited the statue of Ozzie Smith as "her favorite part of the park." Thanks Molly!
