Weather @ Poly Canyon

ATMOSPHERE

Cal Poly is lucky to be sheltered by the Morros, also known as The Nine Sisters, providing us with a barrier from the coastal winds. This gives us a much lower average of wind speed compared to the rest of the U.S. The windiest time here at Cal Poly occurs in late May early June, with the wind speeds averaging up to eight miles an hour.

San Luis Obispo is a great place to live. Not only is Cal Poly located here on the central coast, but the majority of the days are clear and blue. Cal Poly averages 70% of the year as non-overcast days.
