Wind
Seasons Change

During the spring time Cal Poly receives a fair amount of wind. Wind is the movement of air and is usually described by the direction it blows and the level of speed it has. When the wind does pick up many students, staff, and faculty experience allergies. From our observations over the spring months, allergies seem to increase the closer to summer we get.

Steve hangin on for dear life on a windy day

The following journal entry is a brief account of a windy day at Cal Poly

April 20, 2005

What to wear? Summer clothes or winter clothes? Well today there was a steady breeze. It was good company to the hot sun and humidity. However, when it rains—the wind can be quite ferocious. Remember your sunglasses (for those sensitive eyes) and ladies remember to use hairspray (for your beautiful locks). And pick your clothes carefully!
