Temperature
Seasons Change

Cal Poly's temperature stays pretty mild all year around due to the close proximity to the ocean. However, we do have our extreme temperatures at times. Cal Poly reached a record high on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 by topping out at 106 degrees. Throughout the spring months the average temperature is around 70 degrees and has slight changes throughout April, May, and June.

The following journal entry is a brief account of a sunny day at Cal Poly

May 22, 2005

Want to know what I wore today? Here goes…

Morning: kinda chilly out, a bit brisk so pants, shoes, shirt, and sweater will do.

Afternoon: got a bit warm so luckily I had some other shoes with me to cool me down, so I took off the sweater, rolled up the pants and changed into flip flops.

Evening: cooled down quite a bit so I put back on the sweater, rolled down the pants, put the shoes back on, and added a jacket.
It’s amazing how the temperature can change throughout a day on campus. You never really know what you will get in the springtime so you gotta be prepared!

The following temperatures are the average for San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly. Check out www.wunderground.com/US/CA/San_Luis_Obispo.html for the latest weather updates.
