The
Wild Turkey's body is dark with some iridescence and flight
feathers barred with white. The Wattle is red, breast tuft black,
and the legs are spurred. The turkey's bare skin is blue and
pink. The tail, uppertail coverts, and lower rump feathers are
tipped with off-white. Females are 37 inches of duller coloration
overall and lacking the breast tuft. Wild turkeys reside year-round
and are found primarily in open riparian woodlands. They are
omnivorous.
