Physical Description: Size: 39-50 cm, Wing span: 62-90 cm, long tail barred with rounded tip, wings short and eliptical, dark back and head, yellow legs.

Habitat: Resident individuals can be observed yearround. Migratory individuals will breed in norther North America.Wintering grounds extend into Mexico.

Diet: Feeds primarilly on birds captured in flight or perched. Will hunt through relatively dense canopy.
