Michael Silverman, a former Cal Poly student photogaphed a Bald
Eagle outside the Parker Barn. This is a rare and unique siting.


Physical Description: Size: 76-79 cm Wingspan: 180-230cm. Black
plumage with white head and retricies. Feet and bill are bright
yellow. Bill is heavy and decurved.
Habitat: Lakes, rivers, marshes, and coastlines. Breeds in northern
Canada and Alaska. Winters across the U.S.
Diet: Primarily they feed on fish. Fish are caught while in flight,
and the eagle does not enter the water. Will also feed on small
rodents and other available prey.
