A variety of creek life is found throughout Cal Poly Land, specifically in Poly Canyon's main water way—Brizziolari Creek.

Brizziolari Creek is an ephemeral stream, which means that it is actively flowing throughout the winter months. It occassionally flows during the summer. When the creek is not actively flowing, the creek life migrates to either Stenner Creek or San Luis Obispo Creek, both of which are larger creeks that connect to Brizziolari Creek.
