The Thoroughbred Enterprise Project begins in spring and continues through the following fall quarter. Unlike the other equine enterprise projects, the Cal Poly thoroughbreds are conditioned and prepared to be sold as yearlings (one year old) versus two year olds. At one year is when the riding portion of the training process is implemented. The goal of the Thoroughbred Enterprise is to raise to yearlings to become race horses.
