Landscape @ Cal Poly

STENNER CREEK

Overview

Stenner Creek is one of three creeks which flow through campus. Stenner Creek starts up past Cheda Ranch and then flows down under the railroad trestle, across the Cal Poly farm lands, off campus and finally dissolves into San Luis Creek . Stenner Creek used to be the home of steelhead trout but they haven't been seen for years. Efforts have been made to reintroduce them to the stream without much success.

In the photos you can clearly tell which was taken after a day of rain. The rain illuminates the plants bringing out a rich green and turning the ground into a deeper brown. The clouds in the sky allow the plants to really be seen instead of just reflecting light back at the camera.
