Technology at Cal Poly

The train, as seen above, was a vital aspect to the creation and history of Cal Poly

Technology at Cal Poly

Technology has been ever present since the creation of Cal Poly, starting with the laying down of the South Pacific Railroad that runs through the campus, as the above picture shows. The power station located on campus, water ways from Stenner Creek, power lines through the hills, implementing newer utilities within the campus and others are just some of the few technologies present on the Cal Poly land.

The technology at Cal Poly has changed greatly over the past century. From the previously untouched land before the twentieth century, to the now fully industrialized and prosperous land that it is today. The introduction of the railroad has aided in the complete transformation of the land. The enphasize of study has changed dramamatically from agriculture to other studies such as science, business, and engineering.
