During the 1960s, the next stage of growth and expansion of the main campus altered its holdings. During this period, the school altered the configuration of the main campus to its current horseshoe shape, and received several additional large state and federal holdings in the proximity of the campus. By this time Cal Poly land in the county reached its current total of nearly 6,000 acres.
