Over 10,000 years ago, paleo-Indian peoples occupied the land and began the process of humanization. It is uncertain whether or not they lived immediately on Cal Poly’s land, but due to their skill as hunters and gatherers, they doubtless utilized and altered the flora and fauna of region.
