Equine

Cal Poly's equine program is focused on the breeding and training of Quarterhorses and Thoroughbreds.

The Breeding Enterprise is run by Cal Poly students. Each year, 30 foundation-owned brood mares and other individually owned mares are bred to one of Cal Poly's two stud stallions.

Many students and faculty house their horses on campus at one of the horse facilities on campus. There are also several student-run clubs that foster the interest in horses, such as the Cutting and Reining Club and the Cal Poly Equestrian Team.
