Resource sustainability is often an uphill battle with a down hill process. Expansion of facilities and people at Cal Poly presents a great challenge to all of us. How do we manage the resources on campus in a responsible manner and in perpetuity? The Cal Poly Lands Project is the beginning step. Developing and refining a Master Plan is essential. Educating each generation of participants in the Cal Poly experience about our unique natural resources is a must. Balancing community needs against resource capability is the key to winning the sustainability battle.
