The Underground House:
The rounded structure was created by a group of construction management
students in the 1970’s. It is unique in its use of the earth
to act as insulation to keep it at a uniform temperature. It isn’t
seen underground today because it was leaking water. Since its
composition was not waterproof, and it could not be sealed, it
was later moved up to the surface. The structure was made open
on one side for ventilation purposes. Students planned to make
a bathroom addition to the house. Some of the work in the front
of the structure was done at a later time.
