Water
is important in grazing management. Water doesn't
support only cattle, it supports the whole enviornment
of a riparian pasture. Livestock and wildlife
depend on a healthy clean water supply. Healthy
streams and creeks provide valuable habitat for
fish, birds, and other wildlife.
In
this picture taken at Walters Ranch you can see
how diverse the environment looks. This riparian
pasture is grazed only for one day every ninety
days to give the grass time to rest and reproduce
itself.
