Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Purposes and Objectives We feel that it is important to inform the general public about the viticultural programs and capabilities that Cal Poly offers. As the wine industry continues to grow in California, Cal Poly remains committed to excellence in viticulture education. Academically, Cal Poly offers a comprehensive Wine and Viticulture Minor to all active students. The school is also preparing to unveil a revolutionary Wine and Viticulture Major - which will certainly solidify Cal Poly's stance as California's leader in agricultural education. To complement its extensive academic program, Cal Poly owns and operates two active vineyards -Trestle (Wildhorse)Vineyard and Gallo Vineyard (above). Finally, Cal Poly nurtures viticulture education outside of the classroom. Wine related clubs and organizations, such as the Vines to Wines Club, promote responsible and fun learning for interested students. Organizations such as the Central Coast Vineyard Team (CCVT) and the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) promote involvement in the community and in the Viticulture Industry.
